100 Acts of Kindness Project

If you are ready to make a difference in your life, your family, and your community then the 100 acts of kindness project is for you! We join together with Toddler Approved to host the 100 Acts of Kindness Challenge because there is nothing more fun than doing kindness with others!

Kristina, from Toddler Approved, was inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to start the challenge and that is why we are starting it on his birthday each year. Dr. King encouraged people to show kindness and love. He asked…

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’

While we all can list things we’ve recently done for others (especially if you did 24 RACKs with us!) there is something so inspiring about starting your year off with 100 acts of kindness. Join us and the parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, and, most importantly, children around the world who are coming together to do good.

Feeling overwhelmed with all on your to do list right now? Do what you can. I bet you’ll find that when you are intentional it is easier to get to 100 acts of kindness than you think!

And remember this isn’t a contest to see who can do the most kindness. Or the best kindness. It’s about stopping to make doing good part of your day and creating a kindness habit for your kids.

No act of kindness is too small.

It’s true. Even the smallest act can change someone’s day and make a difference.

You will never really know how far your act of kindness reaches. So just imagine how much of a difference 100 acts of kindness by ALL of us will make!

How Do I Participate in the 100 Acts of Kindness Project?

  1. Commit to doing 100 acts of kindness. By yourself, with your family, with your class, with your friends, with your neighborhood, with your school–whatever you choose!
  2. Join the 100 Acts of Kindness Facebook group. It’s already full of hundreds of people like you wanting to spread kindness. Introduce yourself, cheer each other on, share ideas–make the group your happy place full of kindness and hope!
  3. Decide how you and your family or group are going to keep track of your 100 acts of kindness. I have a fun recording sheet kids can color in as they do acts of kindness! There is no right or wrong way to do it and EVERY act of kindness “counts”. There is no act that isn’t “kind enough” for this project.
  4. Do acts of kindness! Between Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Valentine’s Day try to do 100 acts of kindness together. I have a list of 100 Acts of Kindness for Kids to get you started!
  5. Celebrate your good work. On Valentine’s Day or whenever you finish have a celebration of all the acts of kindness you have done.

We’ll be there in the Facebook group and on Instagram sharing our own acts of kindness and cheering you on too! Follow the hashtag #100actsofkindness on Instagram to see what others are doing too! I’m @coffeeandcrayon and Kristina is @kristinatoddlerapproved!

In the meantime start using the resources above to help you!

Don’t forget to share what you are doing with the others in the challenge! It’s so fun and inspiring to see everyone’s ideas.

I see by the dates that I am too late to join in on the “100 Acts of Kindness Project” but I would still like to do a “Kindness Challenge” with my 2nd grade class. There is a local business who is our Partner In Eduation (PIE) and approached me about having a “Kindness Challenge” to promote kindness with my students. I really like your activities and would love to use them. I wanted to make sure that I have permission to use your printables? Please let me know. Thanks!!

Yes! You can start the challenge at any time.

I’d love to print the 100 acts of kindness list for my child’s class. I can’t seem to find a good way to do that. Can you send me a pdf or something?

Click on the blue words that say 100 Acts of Kindness for Kids. You’ll find the printable in that post! 🙂
